I find every time I re-read the same pages I find different meaning from it each time. When I first started reading this book I had a very similar experience to Jan’s. For me ACIM has given me a deeper sense of inner peace. I find that in doing the exercises I am automatically drawn to becoming closer to spirit, and shed more guickly the “material type” things in my life.

My first approach to the course resulted in putting it aside when on scanning I found all the old Christian terms and what I thought were their stereotypical meanings. My ego was successful in turning me off the book.

Several months (maybe over a year) later I took it up again and I realized it was a different language, a spiritual one for the soul. The familiar terms had another meaning. It was like opening a door into the light! My first revelation was in the letting go of all the meanings I had built into the names and words after years of fairly traditional Christianity which turned me off at about age 13.

I came back to a spiritual search after the birth of our first child. That journey has had it’s ups and downs to the point of apathy and beyond to a search for spiritual fulfillment by other means and approaches.

This book has shown new meaning for old terms. I no longer cringe inside when I hear them in the traditional settings. In fact in letting them go, my spirit has reconnected with them. Where others are in their journeys no longer have a hold on me. I rejoice in the lifting of the weight. The door is open. The light enters. The journey continues…
